It works.
But that’s just it. It only works. It has voice prompts (which is utterly useless to me as a deaf guy), and minimal interfacing - doesn’t even have a USB port for direct downloads
. The worst part is that the video compression quality is garbage, it’s incapable of getting clear pictures of license plates even at twenty feet.
A detailed review of this dash camera will be forthcoming after the Labor Day weekend.
I expect to fully eviscerate this product.

I’ll be very interested to see what you have to say about it.

Too bad.
If I were buying today, I’d probably get the A129:
It seems expensive, and I’d like to get something with 1440p recording (I know resolution isn’t everything, but all else being equal, I’d still feel better about having more pixels)

Flip side of this coin, I have played with an assortment of sub $150 cams and stand by my feeling - for acceptable enough quality to save you when the camera is actually needed you need to spend $100-$125. Cheaper is too junku and more doesn’t really add much emergency yielding value. Though I used to use BlackVue as kind of the top option for those who want the bestest, perhaps not?

Interesting.
I’ve got the DR
590w-2ch and am pretty happy with it.
(

I have one of these, no issues so far. As was noted, Youtube impedes video quality, but the originals are much more legible.

I didn’t use YouTube. The videos I looked at were raws. Straight from the SD card on the PC. Plates from even 20 feet were no good.

There’s a 4k version of the A129 in active field testing right now with select users over on dashcamtalk.com, and the quality is definitely better.

What resolution did you use? Maybe you got a bad one? Would be interesting to see how it compares to others. I’ll have to check out some of my raw files at home.

That’s interesting to know, thanks!

I used the 4k extreme setting. Here's the thread I posted some screen grabs from: https://dashcamtalk.com/forum/threads/not-happy-with-camera-footage-quality.40293/
